eeyai ("we", "us") is an AI news and community site operated from Nairobi, Kenya. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can delete it or leave our mailing list.
What we collect
- Account: email, optional name, password hash (if you use email signup), and OAuth identifiers if you sign in with Google, GitHub, or X.
- Content you post: community posts and comments on posts or news articles.
- Newsletter: email address and confirmation / unsubscribe status if you subscribe to the digest.
- Technical: standard server logs (IP, user agent) for security and reliability. We do not sell advertising profiles.
- Payments: if you donate via Paystack, payment details are handled by Paystack; we may store a donation reference and optional email for receipt purposes.
How we use it
To run your account, publish and moderate community content, send digests you opted into, improve the site, and comply with law. Email is only used for digests you confirmed or for essential account messages (e.g. password issues you initiate).
Sharing
We use processors to operate the service (hosting, email delivery via Resend when configured, OAuth providers you choose, Paystack for donations). We do not sell your personal data.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the digest anytime via the link in any email, or at /newsletter/unsubscribe.
- Delete your account in Settings. That removes your profile and your posts/comments. We also unsubscribe the matching newsletter email if present.
- Questions: info@eeyai.co.ke.
Cookies
We use session cookies required for login (NextAuth). Theme preference may be stored locally in your browser. We do not use third-party ad trackers.
Changes
We may update this page. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use after material changes means you accept the revised policy.
