Who we are
eeyai is a community-maintained news site run by a small team of volunteers. We're based in Nairobi, Kenya — and proud of it. What started as a side project to keep track of the breakneck world of AI has grown into a newsroom, a model directory, and a community, all in one place.
Why “eeyai”?
Because that's how it's said. “AI” pronounced aloud — the way it rolls off the tongue in Kenya — sounds like “ee-yai”. We named the site the way people actually say it: no jargon, no gatekeeping, just the thing itself.
